President’s website www.presidentofindia.nic.in is presently under reconstruction by National Informatics Centre (NIC) after President Pratibha Patil took charge from earlier President APJ Abdul Kalam. This website became extremely popular in Kalam’s regime with record one crore hits on the website in a single day on 15.08.2006 adding to his stature of being People’s President. NIC should add feature of providing auto registration-number to messages pasted by members of pubic in name of the President of India, and President’s Secretariat should provide complete mechanism for follow-up of registered messages in a time-bound period but only when complete contact-address, telephone-number with e-mail ID is given to avoid misuse. Website should also incorporate e-mail IDs and contact-numbers (extensions) of all the officers in President’s Secretariat for fast and convenient approach.











President’s Secretariat has a unique facility of receiving letters round-the-clock on all days including holidays. Providing feature of auto registration-number on messages put on President’s website will further make appreciable addition in present era of electronic communication. Officers in President’s Secretariat should be instructed to provide their e-mail IDs and contact-numbers (extensions) in their correspondence with members of public.
